SRTM VOIDFILL COMPARISON

The location is around Mount Carstensz, the highest point of New Guinea and the Australasian "continent". I have found no satisfactory topographic mapping of this area. The rollout image is from SRTM data, with the voids filled primarily by interpolation. Move the mouse onto and away from the image to switch to and from the rollover image, which is also based on SRTM data but with the voids filled using auxiliary sources, primarily SRTM data for high altitude areas and Landsat images to open the deep canyons. There are a few places where relief uncertainty remains.
